Coffee Word Art and Extras

Hi everyone.  I did Fi's tut "No Presents" which has you make a word art.  I really liked the way my word art came out, so I decided to share it with you.

The word art is in PNG format, and you can right click to save it.  Feel free to use it in any of your creations.  You can use it in any tutorials that you write.  Just please keep my file name intact and refer people to my blog to save the word art for themselves.

The snags I made are featuring the artwork of Di Halim which can be purchased at Pics for Design.  Please do not use this tube unless you have purchased it.

Patterned Ommadawn Old School Tutorial

This is an original tutorial written by me.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

Supplies
Paint Shop Pro (I use version 9, but this should work in all versions.)
Animation Shop (optional)
Tube of choice -  the one I'm using is by Gary Ham and was purchased at CDO.  He is no longer selling his tubes.  Please do not use his tubes if you have not purchased them first.
Pattern or Scrap Paper of choice (I'm using a background tile that I've had on my hard drive for ages, but as I don't know who it's originally by, I can't share it.)  Note:  The more varied and distinct the pattern is, the better the results.
Toadies Ommadawn
Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Impact - Perspective Shadow (optional)
Penta.com Dot and Cross
Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow (optional)
Word art of choice - the one I'm using can be found at Ginger's House Blog here.
Animation of choice (optional) - I'm using the Pink Confetti animation from Animation Pack 11-20 by Simone here.
Font of choice - I'm using one called Emma.

1.  Open a new image 600 x 250.
2.  Open your pattern in PSP then in your Material Box, click the pattern button and choose your pattern.
 3.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill it with your pattern.

4.  Duplicate this layer.
5.  On your duplicate layer, apply Toadies>Ommadawn with the following settings.  Note:  I had to import my Toadies filters into Filters Unlimited.

6.  Then, apply Penta.com Dot and Cross with the following settings.

7.  Change the blend mode of this layer to something that suits your tube and/or background.  I used Soft Light.
8.  Add your tube as a new layer.
9.  Apply a drop shadow of choice.  I used Eye Candy 5 Perspective Shadow with the following settings.

10.  Add a new raster layer and select all.
11.  Selections>Modify>Select Selection Borders - Inside & Anti-alias ticked and width of 4.
12.  Flood fill with a color from your tube or background.  Select None.
13.  Apply a drop shadow of V&H: 2  B: 5 O: 50.  Repeat drop shadow but change the V&H to -2.
14.  Copy and paste your word art as a new layer.
15.  Give it a gradient glow with the "Fat" preset.
16.  Apply the same drop shadow as you did on the frame.
17.  Add your copyright information and name.
18.  If you are not animating, save as JPEG or PNG.

Animation

1.  In Paint Shop Pro.  Hide all  your layers except the bottom two.
2.  Edit>Copy Merged.
3.  Open Animation Shop and paste as a new image.
4.  Open the animation that you are using in Animation Shop.
5.  Duplicate your background to the same number of frames as your animation.  Mine has 22.
6.  Make frame one active on both of your images, and select all the frames.
7.  Make sure the propogate paste button is ticked and drag the animation onto your background.  Make sure it's centered before you let it go.
8. Back in Paint Shop Pro, hid your two background layers, and unhide the rest of your layers.
9.  Edit>Copy Merged.
10.  Paste as a new image in Animation Shop.
11.  Make sure your first frame on your background animation is still active and that all the frames are still selected and carefully drag the top of your tag onto your background.
12.  When you are satisfied that you are lined up, let go of the dragged image onto your background.
13.  Save as a GIF.
