Framed Tutorial

This is just a quickie tutorial on how to make the girl look like she's coming out of the frame.  One of my friends was asking in our group how to do that, and it occurred to me that some of us have been PSPing for so long that we (and by we I mean I) forget that we all started at the beginning.  So, this basic tutorial is for my friend and anyone else who is still learning.  :)

Supplies
Tube of choice - I'm using a tube by Michael Landefeld which can be purchased at CDO.
Scrap kit of choice - I'm using the beautiful kit "Mimosa" by P-O Concept which can be purchased at PFD and S&Co.
Mask of choice - I'm using one called 0mask011_LT.  If this is your mask or you know the maker of this mask, please let me know, so I can give credit.
Font of choice - I'm using one called Dartangnon ITC.

1.  Open a new canvas 800 x 800.  (I like lots of room to work.)
2.  Paste your frame of choice. If you're using the same kit as me, I'm using element PO-mi22.
3.  Resize your frame to suit your tube.  I resized to 75%.
4.  Activate your magic wand with the tolerance and feather set to 0.  Click inside your frame.
5.  Selections>Modify_Expand by 5.
6.  Paste paper PO-mipp12 as a new layer.
7.  Invert selection and press delete on your keyboard.  Deselect.
8.  Drag this layer to the bottom.
9.  With your paper layer active, paste your tube as a new layer.
10.  Erase anything hinging out of the bottom and the side that you don't want hanging out.  Be careful not to erase the parts inside the frame.

11.  Duplicate your tube and move the duplicated tube up in your layer palette so that it is above your frame.
12.  Add a drop shadow of choice to your bottom tube layer and your frame.
13.  Erase the bottom parts of the tube that you don't want hanging over the frame.

14.  Add your elements of choice and add a drop shadow to each.  The elements I'm using are below.

15.  Add paper PO-mipp3 as a new layer.  Drag to the bottom of your layer palette.
16.  Layers>New Mask Layer>From Image and choose your mask from the list.
17.  Layers>Merge>Merge group.
18.  Crop any excess background and resize to your liking.  I resized mine to 60%.
19.  Add your copyrights and name and save as a PNG or JPEG.

Fluffy Word Art and Snags

I have silly word art for you today, along with some snags featuring the artwork of Cuddly Rigor Mortis.  You can purchase the tubes of Cuddly Rigor Mortis at CDO.  Please do not use her tubes without a license.  You may use my word art in your personal use creations.  You may colorize it and use it in your tutorials.  If you use it in your tutorials, please do not upload with your supplies, link back to my blog for download.

Paint Shop Pro - I use version 9, but this should work in all versions.

Animation Shop

Eye Candy 4000 - HSB Noise

Tube of choice

Scrap kit "Wild West" by P-O Concept

Mask - JustFi_Mask_001 by Fiona

1.  Open a new canvas 800 x 800.  I'm starting out big, so I have lots of room to work with.
2.  Open element P-O wi2 and paste as a new layer.
3.  Using your magic wand with the tolerance and feather set to 0, click inside your frame.
4.  Selections>Modify>Expand by 3.
5.  Copy and paste paper P-O wipp6 as a new layer.
6.  Invert your selection and hit delete on your keyboard.  Keep selected.
7.  Open your close up and paste as a new layer.
8.  Position where you like within the frame and hit delete on your keyboard.
9.  Drag both of these layers under your frame layer.
10.  On your close up layer change the blend mode to Luminance and the opacity to 60.
11.  Duplicate your paper layer two times for a total of 3 layers.
12.  On your bottom paper layer, apply Eye Candy 4000 HSB Noise with the following settings.

13.  Repeat HSB Noise on the other two paper layers with the same settings, but hit the random seed button once on each layer.  Hide the top 2 layers for now.
14.  Apply a drop shadow to your frame.  I use H &V:2  O: 50 B:5
15.  Add your tube as a new layer and drop shadow.
16.  Add the elements you like and add a drop shadow to each of them.  Below are the elements I used.  You can use my tag as a reference for where I placed them.

17.  Paste paper P-O wipp8 as a new layer and drag to bottom.

18.  Layers>New Mask Layer>From Image and choose JustFi_Mask_001.

19.  Crop your tag and resize to your liking.  I like a smaller tag, so I resized mine to 60%.

20.  Add your copyright information and your name.

Animation

1.  Copy merged and go to Animation Shop and paste as new image. 

2.  Hide your bottom paper layer and unhide the middle paper layer.  

3.  Copy merged and in Animation Shop, paste after current frame.

4.  Hide your middle paper layer and unhide your top paper layer.

5.  Copy merged and in Animation Shop, paste after current frame.

6.  Select all frames and change the frame properties to 20.

7.  Save as a GIF.   Remember that you may want to keep a white background, since Animation Shop does strange things to transparent images.
